The Reason the Japanese Attacked Pearl Harbour

Picture
There were many different reasons that the Japanese attacked America. The Japanese knew that almost all of america's forces were naval. They also knew that Pearl harbour was America's biggest Naval outpost. By bombing the navy they crippled any ready attack forces that america had. The main reason for the japanese attacking Pearl Harbour is becaue they had no other choice, Roosevelt cut of the oil trade between America and Japan. Of course Roosevelt had his reasons; Japan's military operations in china were seen as dangerious to the U.S.A. so Roosevelt cut off the oil trade between Japan and America, knowing that without oil Japan would army and navy would fall.

The attack of pearl harbour was the Japanese attempting to cripple the American fleat and protect the japanese advance into Malaya and the dutch east islands. The Japanese wanted to invade Malaya and the Dutch east islands for their natural reasources such as oil and rubber.

If the Japanese chose not to attack Pearl harbour, they would not of had even a chance to win the war. The Japanese were making upgrades to their technologie in weapon advancements and that is the main reason the americans cut off oil trades, to stop the advancements and to slow them down.
